East Anatolia Tourism Development Project

East Anatolia Tourism Development Project was accomplished between the years 2007-2012. Within the scope East Anatolia Tourism Development Project, more than 20 guesthouses increased its total bed amount up to 150 by revealing Çoruh Valley’s tourism potential. 4 non governmental organizations were established to support the sustainable tourism in the area. Number of young people and women who earn their income from tourism increased. Tourism recognition of the area reached to an international level by organizing Bird Observation Festival and Gastronomy Festival. Uzundere where also Çoruh Valley is located in was declared as tourism center by the council of ministers at the end of 5th year. Uzundere was also declared as a cittaslow in 2016.
